Veteran Focused Reviews Are Underway: Are You Next?

On August 4, 2020, the Office of Federal Contractor Compliance Programs (OFCCP) announced via email that it has begun scheduling Vietnam Era Veterans’ Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA) focused reviews.

VEVRAA focused reviews are dedicated to evaluating contractor compliance with VEVRAA equal employment opportunity requirements. The OFCCP evaluates contract compliance through a variety of methods, including evaluation of:

  • Hiring and compensation related data
  • Policies and practices — including recruitment, hiring and accommodation requests
  • Onsite interviews of managers and employees

OFCCP Issues Final Rule Exempting TRICARE Providers

On July 2, the Department of Labor Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) published its final rule to amend the regulations pertaining to its authority over TRICARE health care providers. The final rule effectively exempts TRICARE providers from OFCCP compliance and enforcement activities.

OFCCP Recent Developments and Guidance on COVID-19

In the wake of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, many federal contractors are questioning to what extent the Department of Labor (DOL) Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) will continue to operate and whether recently passed legislation includes any relief for federal contractors. While the OFCCP has made it clear that it remains “virtually” operational, it will not be “business as usual.”
